    Canon IRC3200 Printing Faults

    Hi Everyone,

Been a long time since i've been on this site, had a couple of months holiday and good to be back again.

Well i had this customer's copier having difficulty printing, installed the printing driver for use on usb port only and not on the network. Tried test print and was able to recieve as shown on the display panel with the green light apearing on the copier as processing but no output (paper doesn't come out), not even the 1st page.

Tried unistalling and re-installing the driver and print on the Canon IRC3200 pcl 5 settings but still didn't work, although recieved but could not print out.

    Any help plis?

    IMPORTANT
Before installing a printer driver through a USB
    connection,
turn the printer OFF. Turn the power back ON only if the instruction to do so appears on the screen during installation.
    • In a USB environment, you cannot set up the printer configuration automatically or use the Job Accounting feature.

    USB Interface Board
The USB (Universal Serial Bus) Interface Board is necessary if you want to connect this machine to a PC via the USB port.
    NOTE
    • The USB Interface Board can be used only if the optional Color Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit is installed, or if the Super G3 FAX Board and Resolution Switching Board are
    installed.
    • The USB Interface Board cannot be used with the optional imagePASS.
The USB Interface Board does not support memory devices, keyboards, a mouse, or other external devices.
    • Either the USB Interface Board or Token Ring Network Interface Adapter can be installed in this machine. They cannot be installed together.

When the machine is connected to a personal computer via the USB cable, you will not be able to use some of the utilities-

    • If the machine is connected to a computer with a USB cable, you can print a document from your computer using the printer driver, or send a fax from your computer using the fax driver.
    • You cannot specify the computer connected to the machine through a USB connection as a destination of the Send jobs or forwarded jobs. Also, with that computer, you cannot use Remote UI and the Network Scan function.

      Thanks Teckat,

I've had the optional color network multi-PDL printer kit installed already plus i had the driver installed with the printer being turned off as you say. Everything seems to be in place and okay, but i just don't have the print outputs, when ever i tried the test prints, on the copier LCD screen it shows the message that it is receiving the print jobs and when it starts to process (green light blinking) it stops and the print job does not continue.

I' ve tried checking the connections, had the pc print settings done but without success. Is it some settings in the printer machine?

      plis advise.

Make sure the "N" Boot DIMM & UFR PCB are seated correctly -

Print out a P PRINT log to check firmware versions

in service mode check that -IMG-CONT is set to "0"
        COPIER>OPTION<INT-FACE>IMG-CONT

PRESS COUNTER CHECK on Control Panel
        PRESS Device Configuration
make sure that "USB" is indicated as an Option

I am assuming u did this check ???

          Hi Teckat,

Thanks for all the info, i have already checked twice the ''N'' DIMM & UFR PCB and seated them properly but i have not gone into service mode to check that
          IMG-CONT is set to "0".

Checking the printer settings on printer status, i see the test prints that i have made but all have the initial ''NG''

I will try this and get back to you for updates.

          Thanks
          alot

              Hi Teckat,

I have tried everything and it is still the same, when ever i test print the LCD screen panel shows the printer receiving the infomation but the document does not print out and it disappears from the screen in about 3secs.

I have also checked that the ''USB'' is indicated as an option and also checked for IMG-CONT is set to ''0''.

Can it be that the windows O/S be the cause, as i use win 7 and not win xp? Do i need an upgrade driver for windows 7?

I'm really running out of ideas and my last option is to replace the USB Interface Board or the Main Controller PCB (Main).

I will update you on my findings, plis advise where possible

                4. Scroll down to 'USB Settings'. Press USB Settings.
Select the 'Use USB Device' option.
make sure to also enable the 'Use USB Host' setting on the machine
Set it to 'On'. Hit OK.
Reboot the imageRUNNER for the changes to take effect.

Windows 7 may be the issue/ don't see a UFR driver for it on http://www.usa.canon.com
