At times it would help if you include the error message you are getting.

Just taking a wild stab at it - I suspect you are missing the trays and flags that are removed when installing an S1 finisher. I suggest you find a copy of the installation manual/sheet for an S1 finisher and just do it in reverse - after getting the parts the instruction sheet says are no longer used.
