3025 going connected to 2 windows 98 machines , scangear software needed?

I have to do this tomorrow. Not sure if its 98se or what. Both are no longer connected to internet. So nic cards going in. I have the universal print drivers that should work. But not sure if I can get the network scangear 2.21 to work with 98.

So im looking for Canon scangear 1.2 for 98 and cant find it! Can anyone help?

Thanks, Canon should update their website. Not all business have a need to update systems.

        I totally disagree with that.

If the customer expects to remain at least remotely competitive in today's market, they best make at least some kind of effort to keep up with technology.

If they don't, the rest of the world will pass them by.

I agree too but customer is old, cheap and has no compitition! This is replacing a 6016, the only reason that finally got retired because I couldnt find a developer. Some places said they had but then didnt or couldnt.

I hear you there -I had an install a few weeks ago where the server was Windows 2000 and most workstations were NT4. No NT4 drivers and Windows 2000 was cut off on October 1st. They had to use HP drivers to print to their new Ricoh machines; they lost quite a bit of functionality that way.

At least that customer knew the situation and agreed with us that there would be numerous shortcomings, and they are in the process of upgrading.

Just to add to the conversation. You might want to get the Canon LPR utility before you go, Win98 didn't have a native TCP/IP port. You will have to use that or the ol' SMB port.
