I know this is going to sound vague, but there is a way to do this. I don't have a machine in front of me, but I can guide you in the right direction.

First select all the initial settings you want to show up when machine is powered up. (Copy Screen, 1 copy selected...etc.)

Then you have to go into " * Additional Functions " and select "Common Settings". Scroll down until you see "Initial Settings".

I believe there is a selection there to "Save Settings". Hit save and the machine will save what you setup as the initial screen. I hope this takes you in the right direction and helps to solve your problem.

Let us know how you made out.

Is what you're telling me is that you can't select copy functions at all? While you're in the mailBox screen, you can't close that screen and select copy or scanner?

quite possibly it is not recognizing the reader. I dont know if you can get it without a reader. If it definitely has a reader than make sure all cables and connections are tight. Let us know

If what 11X17 doesn't do it, you'll need to call a service person to either Clear the NVRAM on certain areas of the machine or reload the system software.
