Are the streaks getting better or worse as you run more pages? If the prints are getting better I would run some plain 11x17 paper with a good amount of each color on there. If you know how to get into service mode I would have you run test prints and see if the streaks go away on there own.

You have nothing dragging across the image so I doubt paper is in there, but it looks like you have dirt on your drum, ITB or developer units. Running some pages might help work that debris out of the image formation area.

Not a paper dragging or caught issue-------
Issue is more likely from ITB
stop the image on the Image Transfer Belt and inspect it.

If the streaks are visible on the Image Transfer Belt, replace the Primary Transfer Roller.
If the streaks are not visible on the Image Transfer Belt, replace the Secondary Transfer Roller.

      Note:
      also make a copy in B & W mode/ see if it is streaking on B & W image

My first opinion is:You are wery nice person.
second opinion is: doesn't matter what exactly is your issue, because you can't resolve problem without technician. No hard feelings guys!

        Tips for Penelope:

1.LIft the ADF,select copy function and select single colour.Print 4 single colour separate.

Stripes in the same place-ITB cleaner
stripes not in the same place:developers issue.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

          Wow guys! What a response!

Skynet - No, it was running rather well. Serves me right for trying to do a favour.

Charm5496 - The streaks got better with copying a white sheet A3 (11x17) and in black and white but then returned to steaks when I used silk again.
Could the dirt build up be the coating from the paper? I haven't used silk since you said not to - this is from before.
I'm afraid I don't know how to use 'service mode' but willing to have a go. I will however do as you suggest.

Teckat - Hi, good to hear from you. Succinct as ever!
I don't think I will be able to inspect the ITB - unless I can find it in the service manual.
Black and white seems okay strangely.

Zoraldinho - Thank you for those few kind words. Do you mean print the same colour 4 times or 4 different colours? CMYK?

To all: It will take me a while to work through your suggestions - primary job comes first. Post again at the weekend.

          Regards,
          Penelope

How to Output each single color of test print (Y/M/C/Bk) in service mode:
Change the set value from [0] to [5] in [COPIER> Test> PG> TYPE].

In order to output a test print in e.g. yellow (single color), set [1] for [COLOR-Y]
              and [0] for [COLOR-M/COLOR-C/COLOR-K].
              Then press the start key.
For Magenta, Cyan and Black, do the same thing by setting [1] for each color & [0] for the colors not testing.

NOTE:after testing, put settings back to normal display

If the streaks go away over time with the plain paper and do not come back until you run the silk paper then stop running the silk paper. Sounds like that stock is leaving debris on your drum surface everytime you run it. Stick with papers that are in the media guide that teckat posted earlier in this thread that the machine can run without issues.
