The copier comes into ready, push the print button and the machine starts to feed paper the scanner moves out a little bit the exposure lamp shuts off and the scanner goes back to home position and a blank sheet comes out. Could this be exposure lamp problem not going into full illumination. I'am not to familiar with this model it looks more like a printer inside. Thank you in advance for any help. Chuck

Re: Canon IC-2200
GLASS & DADF USE HAVE BLANK COPIES ??
WHAT ABOUT PRINTS ??
Is it with all paper locations ?
make sure CCD unit is grounded. The ground wire is held on with a plastic clip. Remove the plastic clip and make a secure ground to the frame of the machine.
Check connector J312 on the DC Controller for good contact, also cut the wire ties associated with J312.
R-CON and D-CON clear may resolve it-
print out P PRINT settings before/ or if u have orig settings to put back in printer**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.** -
Re: Canon IC-2200
If it does have you checked to make sure that the developer unit is cammed in place? Stopped the machine while the paper is traveling under the drum to see if there is a latent image with toner on the drum?Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.Comment

Re: Canon IC-2200
did u do the CCD ground test I posted/?
do u know how to use a meter/?
power of printer/remove glass/ move CCD all the way over by hand
power up printer/ observe what happens ( does it move back-does lamp flicker-????
are u a trained tech ?????
Reader Controller PCB
The major mechanisms of the reader unit are controlled by the CPU on the reader controller PCB.
CPU--
• Controls the sequence of scanner operations.
• Controls the original size detection mechanism.
• Controls the CCD.
• Controls the communications with the ADF
• Controls the scanning lamp.
• Controls shading correction.
• Controls service mode.
• Controls the communications with the main controller.
RAM=
• Stores service mode data.
• Stores user mode data.
• Stores control data.
EEP-ROM=
• Backs up RAM data.
ROM=
• Stores control programs.

Re: Canon IC-2200
Outline of Detection
Book Mode, 1 Original, Copyboard Cover Closed
[1] The scanner remains in wait.
No. 1 mirror base: HP Xenon lamp: off
Original sensor: disabled
[2] The copyboard cover is opened.
Detection starts of external light in main scanning direction.
No. 1 mirror base: to point of original detection
Xenon lamp: off
Original sensor: disabled
[3] An original is set.
The width of an original is identified in terms of the presence or absence of external
light; here, the external light is blocked and the absence of an original is identified,
excluding B5, B4, A4, and A3
[4] The copyboard cover is closed.
When the copyboard cover is brought down to For main scanning direction, the xenon lamp is turned on, and the CCD checks for reflected light (4 points). For sub scanning direction, the original sensor starts detection.
[5] The copyboard cover is fully closed.
The changes in the output level of each sensor are monitored until the copyboard cover is fully closed. The absence of a change is identified as indicating the absence of paper, and the size of the original
is identified based on the combination of changes in level at five points
[6] The scanner remains in wait (for a press on the Start key).
The No. 1 mirror base moves to home position, and the scanner waits for a press on the Start key (wait state)**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

Re: Canon IC-2200
I have a similar issue with this model. When paper cassette, tray 1, is selected the scanner lites up, moves out a little then back. Paper is fed up to registration, a moment passes, then an error is indicated and the paper feeds thru and exits. If bypass feed is selected, the scanner moves out to fully scan the original but paper is not pulled in nor does the tray lift up. Again, an error is indicated. Internal test patterns feed the paper thru but no image is present and it errors. In all cases no image appears and there is no warmth to any paper that passes thru which leads me to believe the fuser is either not heating or is not activated to heat up. The scanner lamp is working properly and I can hear the laser spin up but I can't confirm it is producing an image to the drum. All I have is Intravia for reference which is sketchy. Boy, do I need help.Comment

Re: Canon IC-2200
I your printer password ID protected ??/ who services your printer ??
what is the exact message on printer -control panel-
u say error is indicated ? is that a number code or message ??
did this printer ever work ?
u could have a Canon trained tech inspect issue/ or reload firmware-**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment
