Ok, this is strange but we have an IR5000 in the field that when you select Stapling in the Left hand corner, it shifts the image so that the top of the copy is cut off. If you select stapling in the right hand corner or no staples at all, the image is fine. Any ideas?

Re: 5000 image Shift when Stapling
If you measure, most likey your copy is slightly shrunken.
You might see a dark band at the trail edge.
Look in the Feeder adj service mode for LA SPEED and , enter new values till satisfied.
Strange it only happens when stapling, or scanning.
I've never tried stapling in a different spot.
A customer put that call in on a 5000 and a 5570 at the same time.
I went there ready to give them grief, until I saw they were not crazy.
A lot of 5000 -5070 family are out, if you go looking for the problrmComment

Error :
Image will shift when stapling 15-20mm. Image shift is constant and not an intermittent problem. Image will shift off the glass or when using the feeder. Non-staple copy comes out fine and registration is correct.
Workaround :
Adjusting COPIER>ADJUST>LASER>PVE-OFST value will shift the image during staple operation. Remember to power cycle machine after making adjustments and confirm Staple and Non-staple image is correct on page.Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.Comment
