    Re: Error 240

Probably you need just to reconnect connectors from controller box.

    What is sub-code?

            Re: Error 240

I had a 244 error with this type of machine and it was the ribbon cables that go between DC controller and DC driver pcbs. Since the service manual suggests changing the DC controller (amongst other things) for E240 this may be worth checking out.

              Re: Error 240

These 3 errors in combination only point out on 1 main problem - main controller PCB issue

E240 Error in communication of controller
E740 not sure on this one...some other color canon copier point to the network board issues...slot is on main PCB
              E747 Main controller PCB error

If you are sure that you've checked all the cables on the main PCB and DC controller PCB and the ribbon in between (u might want to change this first anyway)
they all kinda point out to your main controller PCB (i think if u replace it - have an extra dc controller and dc drive board with you just in case - replace them in bulk it's better)

              Good luck!

I think Canon had an ISB bout this at one stage and it was fuser that was causing the problem. The fuser is way over life so would be easier to change first. Ill keep ya posted guys tks

E240 Error in communication of controller

0001 There is no response when 3 sec passed since the main controller had sent the pickup request to DC controller during printing.
Before replacing any parts try re-seating all circuit boards that plug into MCON and DCON.

                    check your Memory DIMMs/ remove>clean ends>re-seat
follow instructions on this PDF/ this is for all imageRunners listed and not listed
procedures have helped in a lot of cases for those error codes listed--

Tks Tekat Ill also do that .I remember that was an earlier problem with these machines sometimes it would lose a colour and the problem was the boards or if all the screws were not put back into the machine they could twist and cause unusal problems
