    [Jamming] ir-2870, tray 1 not lifting, tray 2 jamming,manual bypass works.

    Hi, to all
    I hope you can help, I went to a new client first time there. Tray # 1 not lifting paper. found feed roller and sep rollers smashed into each other. I tried tray #2 and paper stops before it reaches reg roller. code 201 or 0201, every time.PS 10 sensor shows up as the culprit. Manual by-pass tray works GREAT. I reversed tray#1 and tray #2 with no changes. The gray rollers are installed but the lower door has not been modified. I did push on the lower door thou it did not help. I forgot at the time if I should do a clear of the R-Con if that would help? Any suggestions. Thank-You in advance.

      clearing R-con will not do anything for your jamming. That is for your reader controller.

      I would get the inner and outer door mods installed and take a look at PS-10. We have had to add wraps to the spring a time or two for jamming like you are getting. I personally would install the door mods before I went and started changing things though.
      Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

          Great, Thank-You, I have these parts on order.I meant DC-Con, sorry, senior moment. I am sticking with that. I will post next week after kit is installed. Thanks again Charm.

              if it has around 270k on meter it may have a worn down reg sensor flag too . You have the metal clips on right?

              Also since it isnt leaving the tray I would order a new paper feed assy for dw 1. They do screw up and stop lifting and can cause constant jamming.

                  I did reverse #1 and # 2 paper feed units and had the same results, The copier has 112,000 copies and it does not have the metal clips, but the paper stops about 5mm short of this sensor. The #2 tray is the only paper tray that feeds, #1 tray won't lift the paper so I don't know until it starts lifting the paper. The manual by-pass works fine. Thank-You

                      Well I have never see a new tray 1 assy go in a box and fail to lift. Time to look at signals.
