    [Misc] iRC1028i(F) USB Scan

    Hello,

I have a Canon iRC1028i installed at a customer that is connected via USB on a semi tempory bases whilst they sort out their network infrastucture.

Everything is OK apart from the fact they need to scan!

Can someone please confirm that this machine cannot do this, it has to be networked? I have looked through the setup and electronic manuals but they make no mention of this and assume the machine is networked, it does tell you how to set up the USB printing but that's it.

Would MF toolbox work with this machine, it comes with the iR1022 type machines but haven't tried it in a long while as 99% of the machines I install are straight on a network, the rest are stand alone machines.

    Many thanks,

why don't you set them up to scan to USB media? This is standard on the unit
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

I did sudgest this when the machine went in but being a bunch of teachers when I started to explane how to do it their faces glazed over!!! In the end the machine was just hooked up to one PC so they could print and the idea was if they could also scan it could then be forwared on via email.

quite frankly I don't know why they couldn't wait till their network was sorted out but as they say the customer is always correct!?!
