[Jamming] Canon IRA5051 unable to get test page or do auto grad.

We have installed a IRA5051 in a customers with a C1 saddle finisher.

Every time you try to do a full graduation or service mode test page print on it it fails. My opinion is that is has something to do with the buffer unit being in the way. Recently have been getting messages saying remove paper from output tray. But there is nothing in the buffer pass unit or the finisher.

As with all other machines the grad print outs and test pages are machine only and dont come out of the finisher.

Can anyone help? Dont think its possible that to do an auto grad or test print I have to remove the buffer unit and finisher. IS IT?

    Thanks Raphael

Think you might have miss a installation procedures when installing the buffer pass below the LCD panel.

have you try change the paper output to Tray 1 or 2 of finisher? If your error msg did not pop then it pretty sure there is missing sensor lever for the tray below the LCD panel.

I think he is right about checking the instructions. It is possible you forgot the steps BEFORE inserting the passthrough. Kind of seems regular output may be making it to the finisher via the passthrough - but the upper arm may be missing or blocked preventing the internal delivery.

The saddle finisher C1 is not connected or the connecter is plugged in the wrong socket please review the installation procedure

Oh Yeah! Forgot the Paper Deck socket is the same although at different location of the rear of machine. High chance fr2au is spot on.

If I understand right, finisher working ok for printing and copying.Only service printing don't work properly. If finisher plugged in wrong socket
can't work at all.Usually is just wrong socket.

              Auto Adjust Gradation issues
Issue applies only to an imageRUNNER ADVANCE series equipped with an external Staple Finisher-C1 or Booklet Finisher-C1.

The problem should be resolved by setting all options, copy, print & receive to output to tray A. In order to access the Output Tray settings a Service mode setting may need to changed.
Fist try to find the Output Tray setting:

Select Settings and Registration > Login if needed > now select Function Setting > Common > Paper Output Settings > Output Tray Settings.

If present set copy, print & receive to output to tray A.

If Output Tray Settings is not displayed go into service mode level 1 > Copier > Option > ACC > Out-Tray and set to 1.
The machine needs to be power cycled for the settings to take affect.

              or~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The cause of this issue was found to be related to PS45 (second delivery) sensor flag position. It was found that sensor flag for PS45 was out of position indicating tray full, flag not blocking the sensor.
By default, the Auto Gradation test pattern is set to output on Tray-C, which is on the top of the Buffer Unit.
Tray-C utilizes PS45 (second delivery), and if the iR detects that the tray is full, it will generate the message "Adjustment Stopped. Try Again."

To check the state of PS45 in I/O mode:
              Service Mode > Copier > I/O > Copier - P-Sensor > P009 > bit 14 >< 1=normal state >< 0=full >
              2nd.jpg

PS45 sensor lever might get push out of position when sliding the Buffer Pass into this area. No harm checking by using Teckat's I/O Mode.
