    Problem regarding CLC 3220 - machine constant rebooting

    hi there,

    went out to a 3220 the other day where the bar on the wait screen was hanging at around 3 quarters the way down. my 1st thought was HDD was playing up. Ran HDFormat and put system back on via download mode. seem to take it ok.
    after off/on switch the bar got to the end of the wait screen but the copier reboots itself after this.

    after this i checked the power at the back of copier. where the power cable comes out of AC supply into DC power supply, i noticed an electrical smell. turned the copier off. notice that that power cable coming from AC supply had been arching as was not attached properly and had fried that AC outlet and the plug.

    fitted a new AC power outlet, cable, DC power supply and fuse board but to no avail

    when u turn the copier on it seems to run ok IE finisher moves, fuser warms up, ITB belt turns etc etc. The wait screen bar seems to take a long time to get to the end and when it does u get a reboot of the machine.

    AS i realise this is quite a broad problem and not easy to fix, i was wondering whether anyone had a similar issue or whether they could give me some pointers to try.....

    gonna move on to replaicing main controller and HDD next...

    let me know
    thanks

      Wow, that sounded painful, but good fix nonetheless.
