[Misc] Possibility of IRC 4080 GPR-21 toner used in IRC 5185?

I realize that on the surface asking about mixing toner in to a machine that it is not intended for sounds like a major mistake.
But, these two models use the same drums and fixing assemblies yet the toner cartridges have different sales item numbers.

Just curious if anyone has ever tried using the toner for the IRC 4080 GPR-21 in the IRC 5185 GPR-20?
I have never had a 4080 toner cartridge GPR-21 in my hands so they may be keyed differently and I don't know if it would even fit.
I have a 5185 and have an opportunity to get my hands on 4080 toner cheap.

I am only talking about Canon OEM cartridges not a generic AM sold for both models.

    thanks in advance

yes it will work, but there are plastic guides that are different between the two styles that act as a "key" and those would have to be removed first.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

      NOTE:

Without plastic guide you have option to install wrong colour.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it
