    Canon iR C2880

Hello. I am currently setting up a iR 2880 remotely, and we are getting this error when scanning to file through SMB

What is error 751 and 995.

All DNS settings are correct, it has a static IP, the user name and pw to the server are correct, the share is correct, and the domain is correct.

    Any help would be great.

in the back of the send/receive user manual is a list of codes. This should point you in the right direction.. I dont have a manual in front of me. Let me know if you need further help

The server is not functioning. The network is down (the server is unable to connect to the network or was disconnected).
      Check the recipient's address.

Reserved communication jobs were cleared. Reserve the jobs again, if necessary.

      But...
You have to share a folder with read/write access. Also it asks for a username and password when the machine connects thru SMB. I encountered this, and to avoid, I tried to connect with cross-over cable with a computer on which I created an admin user account with a password. This user name and pwd I used in iRC2880 when connecting thru SMB. Most of the times I found that errors were due to unsufficient rights to create a read/write shared folder, or unknown username and password. One time I found a defective network switch - it worked at PING command, but probably when large amount of data, as in SMB file transfer, had errors. Changed switch, then it was OK.

Also, If I remember correctly, Scan thru SMB only works in the same sub-network, not thru a gateway. If you need an exit with a gateway, maybe you have to consider scan to e-mail.

gotcha. I'm just going to let the Canon tech deal with that machine. I'm in Utah, and the machine is in WA, so I've been trying to do everything through the Web UI. Only so much you can do remotely.
