Canon IR 5000 & Network Scangear

I have desktops and also a laptop successfully connecting to a Canon IR5000 copier and also scanning through the wireless network using network scangear 2.1.
I recently setup a new laptop with both the Canon driver and scangear software but while I can get it to go through the copy process it will not scan through Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro - when I
set up the scanner through the scangear tool it correctly identifies the scanner in "discover" and passes the scan test. However in Acrobat I get a message to the effect that Scangear is corrupt and that it is Acrobat will not recognize this.
I have tried both uninstalling Acrobat and NSG but with no difference. The other computers are running the same versions of Windows, Acrobat and NSG. I do not think it is a netork problem as if I take the other laptop home (i.e., outside the office network AND the Canon copier I will just get a message scanner not found, but on the new laptop I get the same file corrupted etc message.
Sorry if I have posted this to the wrong forum and if so please advise as to the most appropriate forum.
    Thanks

SEARCH for files that are named autrans.dll

    NetworkScanGear uses it>
it will cause a conflict if another program also uses this .dll file
similar files are actually different files but in different locations.

    if u remove/
rename the conflict>that program may not function /

Possible Workaround if other program is needed-----
By changing the path statement and putting the path for ScanGrear first both programs should work.

What version of Windows is it?

Though it may not be necessary for the version of Windows you are using I would recommend you use Network ScanGear v2.30. This new version is compatible with Windows 7 64-bit.

This version works fine for me on both Win XP 32-bit and Win 7 64-bit (I haven't tried other Windows OSes).
