[Misc] Canon "Waiting to Print" Massage

    Hi,

I have one machine Canon IRC2620, connected into a LAN, One computer with Win 7 and PCL5 driver and one XP with Win XP 32 bits, The copier doesn't have any Fiery or Server installed. The machine is installed into conventional home router with it's IP assigned and the machine PING very well with the router.
When I send a to test print or print from any conventional application the machine accept the data processing and it doesn't print it said "Waiting to print" without any print. I had to shutdown the machine to reset it. It doesn't reset by reset printer command it stock into cancelling and doesn't cancel the job.

Also It print reports very well but when I try to Print PLC or PS configuration page the machine display the same massage and it stock in "Waiting to print".

    Any Ideas?

Thanks for your valuable advice, really apeciated.

        After cleaning and re-seat,

        First It said, printer suspended;
I notice an error massage, "PDL data transfer error". What could cause that.
I use PCL and UFR driver in the computer. Both fails and gave the same massage.
Also I can not print the PCL or PS font list or configuration pages directly from the copier.
ALSO I cannot perform any direct print from the machine web page.

        Any help will be appreciated.

            Hi, jcontractor

Have you upgrade system firmware to latest? Current is 92.01, if I am not wrong

First, thanks to take time in my problem.

I remove the Dimms, clean the contacts and the excess dirt in the area with compressed air, then I placed Back into the sockets, turn on the machine.
I didn't re-intall the driver into the PC's, if that you mean with re-install the drivers today, but I re-install both drivers (PS and the UFR) also I try PCL and PS form WIN 7 64 computer in the same network, also fails to print but it communicate with the copier.

Also I didn't replace the dimms, I don't have replacements on hand.
Are those similar of the ones we use in PC's or have a specific use for this Copier?
It looks like old PC-100 memory used in PC.

I'm using a conventional router used in small business or homes,
It have a key to log into the network, it that could have some negative effect in the communication?

Data: I can see the machine through the machine web page info, It gave me Online status in the Status tab. I could see the consumables status and all machine data through the web page.

I didn't try to scan through the network at the moment.

Did you recommend to change the dimms?

It looks like is very close related,
As soon I remove the Dimms and clean, re-seat,
the machine change the massages that it gave me.
(Before cleaning) The first was: "Waiting to Print" but no other massage.
The second message after remove and clean: "Processing" and it stuck in that message only.
I clean and re-seat by second time and then: "Printing Suspended" and in the status printing page it said "PDL data transfer error"

              Really appreciate your comments.

Note: I notice a small flash memory card near the dimms, it was replaced once, the old card was left inside the machine.

                Really appreciated.

As a data: I check the Hdd and clear all old data from the HDD trougth service mode 1.
Nothing happend, same, copier boot up well, do the copy very well, but not print.
Also I can't print PCL or PS data configuration page or PCL or PS font list, same massage as I try to do that.

print out your user data P PRINT
                  to check settings-

that is not a flash memory card u see /
since u don't have a Fiery connected >that is probably a "C" Controller boot rom
                  when the Multi-PDL
Printer Kit A2 is installed u remove the "C" boot rom & replace it with the "N" boot rom from the kit
                  -

An EFI external controller like a external imagePass FieryC2 is needed to enable network printing with C-Boot ROM

how & where did u receive this printer for set-up ???

check this setting in service mode--
                  COPIER>OPTION>INT-FACE
IMG-CONT/ your setting should be "0"
it is Used to set connection to PS print server unit.
                  Setting values
0: Normal mode (no PS print server unit) [Factory default]
                  1: Not used
                  2: Not used
3: PS print server unit (FIERY CONNECTED)
                  4: Not used
                  5: Not used

That why they left the old card inside copier.
I didn't receive from any dealer, the machine was brought used and damaged.
                    Upper fuser roller replaced only.

May I roll back this machine to print without the external imagePass FieryC2?

The old card have a a label with information on it:

                          Hi, jcontractor

From the machine's Service Mode P-print data, look out for Boot-ROM. If it is the same as the spare one 70.01C, then you would not be able to use PCL or PS driver. You could download UFR driver but make sure it without "II" behind it. Prior to printing after installing this UFR, try do a clear HDD via Service mode, as there might have some corrupted print jobs stuck inside when PS or PCL driver were used.

As to the firmware, it best that you check with authorized Canon tech
