issue can occur if the imageRUNNER loses communication with the CIS Unit in the Feeder. Check the Feeder Cable on the rear of the imageRUNNER. Make sure the cable is properly seated and that connectors and cable have not been damaged.

    ALSO CHECK>>>>>>>>>>>
"Feeder two sided scanning speed may slow down" message.

Upon boot up, the message "Document feeder requires service" & "Feeder two sided scanning speed may slow down" is displayed on the LCD.
An E202 error code may also be present or logged in the error history. The E202 may have been resolved by adjustment of M6 tension belt for the DADF-S1 CIS unit. See TP08 013 for details on E202-0101.
    TP08.pdf
The DADF-S1 CIS unit goes home and light on at power on.
The single pass 2-sided option in 2-sided mode is selected, but the DADF-S1 will physically scan the original twice for a two sided copy.

    -------
In this instance, re-seating connectors on the DADF-S1 controller resolved the issue. The next step would be to replace the DADF-S1 controller. Part number is FM3-0370-010.
