[Misc] IR5870Ci making dots on paper

    Hello all,

For 2 weeks I've been having this problem. Please click http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7145/6...881c17c7_b.jpg to see picture. At the up of picture, If you zoom a bit you can see lines of dots going from top of the page to few cm down. It's get even worse if I'm printing/copying a normal text page. This picture is when I have copied normal white A4 paper. I suspect it's not some dirt because it's a nice line like machine prints those dots.

What parts of machines should I check into to see if it's problem in them? Maybe cleaning on something particular? What parts of machine should I buy.

    Thanks in advance

have you replaced or cleaned anthing already?

I would do some troubleshooting to narrow the problem down personally, but it could be anything from your drum blade, developer assemblies, turret needing cleaning, ITB belt, ITB, secondary transfer roller.

This is not a machine you want to jump in and start taking apart without a manual or training. Please keep this in mind when attempting to service it as it is a mechanical mess!!! You can do more damage than good if you are not careful.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

      Hehe

This Q posted by my son (He did not believe me). I'm buy 2 devices and transport cca 500km. Both copier have cca 250k copies. Normaly in the trasport all toner dust go everywhere inside and I dont want to start cleaning inside before I buy some new parts like ITB, cleaning etc. One my friend make cleaning on ir6800 and after 3 days get some errors and he must replacing ITB(waiting 15 days for new one). I know that the copier is very compact and it has to be careful when working. Thanks for your answer.

clean primary corona metal sheets thoroughly, renew wires with gold plated ones and (important!) renew grid wire. Dont use gold plated wire for grid, use stainless steel wire.
