I have been tasked with locating the hard drive inside of an old Canon Imagerunner 400s that we have replaced. I need to remove the drive for security reasons and wipe it. I have scoured the internet trying to find information about this device but I'm not having much luck. I would just post a request for the service manual on the service manuals forum but for some reason the copytechnet is giving me a message that I don't have permission to post to that forum. Can anybody provide the service manual or any information about where I might find the drive. I have actually attempted to take the machine apart already but I have yet to locate the drive. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Canon Imagerunner 400s Hard drive location
it win only have an HDD if it has the fiery print board option. No print board = no HDD.
If it has the print board then the HDD will be inside that case.Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned. -

Would that print board be visible by just removing the back panels? I have removed them and I don't see anything that really looks like it could contain a harddrive.Comment

yes the print board is large and is in the back on the lower right hand side when looking at the rear of the machine.Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.Comment

Re: Canon Imagerunner 400s Hard drive location
The Fiery Print Board is large and have many connectors on it, RJ45, parallel printer port, Fax connector.
The original iR400 does not have these connectors and no hard disk, only DRAM and SRAM.Comment
