[Misc] canon ir3300 refuses to boot

hi fellow guys! i recklessly put off my ir3300.as i turn on it reaches only 3/4 of the progressive bar.what should i do? do i need to reformat the hdd? if so can anybody send firmware for my ir3300? my email is dawn14344@yahoo.com.ph.thank you very much guys...

yes you will probably need a new HDD and have to reload the firmware on it.

You can try holding 1&9 and turning the machine on and letting it do a disk check. It is worth a shot

i already tried but nothing happen.still it refuses to boot. i think needs to reformat.but i don't have the software on it.

are you a tech?do you know have to load the firmware if it was sent?do you have sst,a parallel or cross over cable?

cross over cable does not work on this device. You either have to have a parallel cable or the Canon USB to Parallel cable with the SST and firmware. I would recommend a new HDD as well if the disk check failed.

No, i'm not a professional tech. i'm trying to solve my copier problem only thru research on the internet. i've heard about the sst but got no idea how to use it. i'll be glad if you can provide me so with the firmware.thanks in advance...

At this point you need to weigh the cost of having a certified tech coming in to handle this for you versus your time and effort of taking care of this yourself. You will need to purchase a new HDD acquire the SST and firmware which can be easier said than done and then your time to figure out how to make it all work.

agreed,using the sst is second nature to most techs but i really wouldn't know where to start on explaining it to a novice from scratch.

reading a Canon manual is almost like reading a post from Zaza. The translation to the english language gets lost and no one takes the time clean it up and make sure that it makes sense.

only if the firmware on your HDD matches the DCON and RCON on his machine is this a good solution. When you create mismatches of the firmware is when all kinds of problems occur
