is it the same for all colours? if so i'd go for one of the the arms which secure the transfer roller within the itb assy.they break on a regular basis.
What is the procedure for removing transfer belt assembly? My Service manual does not address that in detail. Here is what is done so far - Top section: Removed cleaning blade from the top section, removed the screw holding the assembly next to the cleaning blade, bottom section: fuser removed, protective cover, four screws holding the transfer belt assembly. It is now loose, but does not want to come out. Is it supposed to come out from the top or bottom? Thank you

SIX screws hold the itb assy in.one at rear frame by the drive gear.one at front frame by where you unscrew the cleaning assy(well hidden, you poke your screwdriver through the front frame) and four at the lower end of the unit(below the fuser)
Worst design EVER for Canon, even worse if you had an internal finisher! I’ll be glad to see the back of this model.
ha ha got to agree, when i did the course the trainer told us of known faults and i did wonder what on earth i was in for.I used to remove those itb assy's on a weekly basis for one reason or another!
Have you cleaned the laser? As this sits under the drum and turret asemblies and has no removeable slit glass, it can get dirty very easily. Have had this cause similar images to the ones viewed

Hope this helps.
Thanks for your help. Is there an easier way to access the screw by the drive gear? It seems that the delivery tray has to come out.
Well, after the removal of the itb assembly, I found the issue. The spring that holds the arm of the roller was loose. Arms are not broken. Mine are though... What do you do with those gears? They are on the way...
New problem developed now...
After the assembly, the machine is throwing off a code E00002-0001 which deals with the itb sensor. It does not see the belt. The belt is not ripped, it is intact and feels like it has a good grip and tension on the rollers. What can I do to fix this?
