Ir c3220 fax

I have a 3220 that i have installed a fax unit in. Copier shows unit is installed but when you go to send a doc and hit the start button nothing happens.Adf will not activate or on the glass no scanner movement. I tried a different fax unit same thing. Any ideas ?. Thanks for replys.

have you checked the line and dial tone through the machine?
Is it a land line or VOIP?
you may want to turn off the "check for dial tone before sending" function as this has caused problems similar to what you are describing in the past.

I completely forgot to check if it had a resolution switching board.

so the fax never worked?

If in Service Mode, DISPLAY >ACC-STS > SEND indicates 0, then the Resolution Switching Board for the specific model is not installed or not recognized by the system. In either case make sure that the Resolution Switching Board is installed and seated correctly on the Main Controller PCI slot.
