does this happen with the printer auto gradation ?

did u look to see if the scanner is moving under calib page ???
    try a
Clear R-Con of the Reader and Perform a CCD adjustment. / but before u do print out P Print settings to put back RCON settings--

    or try/ clear MMI/ & re-input COPIER>OPTION<INT-FACE>IMG-CONT back to "3" power off/on
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If Dept. ID mode is enabled on the copier, the scan function may be turned off in the following Dept. ID set up mode: Additional Functions - System Settings - Dept. ID Management - Register ID/Password - Scan = Off

you can enable scanning w/unknown ID's for calibration purposes with the following setting: * Additional Functions - System Settings - Dept. ID Management - Accept Scan Jobs W/Unknown ID's =ON
Be sure to turn Scan W/Unknown ID's to off after calibration is completed.

    Last resort>>>

re-Run setup on the imagePASS H1.
Set IP port to filtering to yes and make sure all ports are enabled.
Reboot the machine and print a configuration page to verify the changes that you've made. This should open all ports on the H1 and allow the calibration scan to go through.

Re: H2 on 4580 takes 10 minutes or more to calibrate

      Thanks
did rcon clear, thats why i needed to recall info from 94 jam post.
      removed calibration
      switched cables around.

don't want to reload system, unless i absolutely have to
someone loaded a profile on it to produce their company colour, don't know how to get that back.
i think reloading did not help with the other one i saw like this.

?? can u do a auto gradation from printer
have u tried the LTR-R position trick on glass with grayscale ?
Try placing the calibration measurement page on the glass in Letter-R direction with the Kodak gray scale placed in the position indicated on the measurement page.

If the problem still persists remove the electrical cage from the reader assy and try re-seating all cables and connectors to the CCD assy, the Reader Controller PCB, and the Interface PCB (data cable attaches to this pcb).

u don't need to reload system, i meant reload the H1 SET UP on 4580 / like when u first install the H1

        did u try a MMI CLR ?

Before clearing MMI, it will be necessary to take the copier out of imagePASS mode. This means going into service mode and setting the image controller to zero (IMG-CONT = 0).

        1. Enter Service Mode (hit Additional Functions, 2 and 8 simultaneously, then Additional Functions).
        2. Select Copier > Option > Int-Face > Img-Cont.
        3. Set the value of Img-Cont to 0.
        4. Hit OK and reboot the copier.

Failure to do this step will result in the copier locking up after clearing MMI.

Now you are ready to clear MMI by performing the following:

        1. Enter Service Mode (hit Additional Functions, 2 and 8 simultaneously, then Additional Functions).
        2. Select Copier > Function > Clear.
        3. Select MMI and hit OK.
        4. Reboot the copier.

After clearing MMI, you will have to go back and set the image controller (IMG-CONT) back to the proper value for the imagePASS controller

color profile ? whoever loaded this should have a record/ if not> foolish move on them

Re: H2 on 4580 takes 10 minutes or more to calibrate

            Problem :
When trying to perform Auto Gradation and Calibration for the machine and Fiery, Auto Gradations works fine. When you try to perform Calibration, the machine prints out the measurement page, then scan's the page, but then its locks up while sending the data. The control panel states "Sending Data". Some times it would not lock up but take an average of 8 minutes to send the data.

            Solution :
Try setting IP port filtering to yes and make sure all ports are enabled. Reboot the fiery and print a configuration page to verify the changes that you've made. This should open all ports on the fiery and allow the calibration scan to go through.

In some cases, replacing the Main Controller PCB Assembly, L-C. Also called LAN-BAR C. (Part Number FM2-9253-010) repaired the issue.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

Re: H2 on 4580 takes 10 minutes or more to calibrate

Guy who loaded the profile has moved on to bigger and better things

I am able to do Autograd

THanks, I will try port filtering and/or Main L/C, next time they call.

try the LTR-R position posted above

                & also try this>
                place gray scale on glass>
                place calibration page in position>
then place two white sheets of paper on top of calibration page
