    Canon IR c3200

    I have some samples of copies that has cleaning issues they are attached. i have change the transfer cleaner unit and black drum unit.These are b/w copies made in auto select mode and the streaks are color
    steaks. i look in the service manual and parts book to see if anything else needs to be change or adjusted
    and can't seem to come up with anything.

    its hard to tell from your test pages. A PG type 10 (full color) would show what is happening better, but from what I can tell your black drum looks like it needs replacing.

      The black drum has been replaced it was doing this before it was repaced, and the steaks are color streaks mostly yellow with some cyan and mag showing up. I don't have a color scanner only b/w.

        Bummer. do you know how old the ITB belt is?
        I would also make sure that the metal plate that is under the ITB is not bent at all as that could smear the toner before being fused on to the paper.

          Customer bought it used and had us to service it, we have been servicing it for 27 months and have not replaced it yet so i don"t know how long it been in the machine but i was leaning toward replacing it ,but because it was putting color streaks on it on a black copy i didn't know if it could have been one or all of the drums.

            yeah I would pull that ITB unit apart and clean everything up and replace the belt with a new one. They are good for 300K, but with an unkown age and being that old it is a likely suspect. The machine runs image registration during the copies and that is where the color toner comes from....even on a B/W page.

              after u replace or remove the ITB Belt

              take out the ITB UNIT
              & Remove the Large metal plate on underside & throw it in the Garbage can


              that large plate always causes a mess/ picks up residual scattered toner

              u then remove the small metal plate> clean underside & put it back/screw the varistor #1 into metal plate end & then push/
              hook other side of the varistor #2 under that spring tab to provide grounding
              ( the other side of varistor was screwed into large plate)
