[Misc] Scan to email using gmail

I've set up a few customers to scan email and shared folder. What else is required for gmail? I have the network and am assured from their it dept that the mail server is correct. I have activated SSL, any suggestions would be great!
    Thanks in advance!

      login to the account
goto help and look at outlook express settings.
Turn on relay on the account settings.

Copier must support ssl and port change.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

I've just been reading up SMTP Relay through Gmail and from what I have read, you need to be signed up for Google Apps. Is that right and if not, I am having trouble finding stuff that tells me how to enable the relay through a standard Gmail account.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.
