Canon ir1024A - 'Download Standby' error

Hello again,

Can someone pleeease tell me how to get my Canon iR1024A working again? I live in Abuja, Nigeria and the Canon techies here don't seem to know what to do with it; I've trawled through pages and pages of forum posts looking for the solution. How do I get rid of the error (the keypad is inactive)?

You need firmware & service support tool.

You have to use Service Support Tool and Download the machines Firmware/System.

If the canon techies in Abuja where u live cannot figure out the problem with the machine and offer no solution then its really unfortunate. The machine's problem can only be solved by a techie, flashing that machine, leave alone how to get the sst and firmware is likely to be an uphill task for you.
I suggest you continue to search for a techie there to do the work for you.

Thanks to everyone for chipping in to support. I am exploring ALL the leads and suggestions and will update on my progress. This is very much appreciated. I'm that guy who took a screwdriver to things and sometimes found the answer but never really did anything worth certifying.I'm pretty handy and prepared to learn what I need to, in order to fix this copier - it cost my young business a tidy sum to acquire and freight to Nigeria and we're losing money every week it's not doing it's job so...if anyone can give me the tools and a step-by-step...? If we have to pay a token for something, I'll ask our bank to suggest some secure way; international credit card payments are not yet quite as sophisticated here but I'm certain we can work it out. Perhaps I could yet be the go-to guy in Abuja for Canon ir1024A - 'Download Standby' error!PS: Feels like a family around here - well done, you all.

How can I get a hold of the firmware and service support tool. The canon tech. support site is obviously for a select club with passwords and codes!
