    NO IMAGE ON DRUM/Blank -

is this blank issue for Glass Copies,
DF Copies, Test Prints & Network Prints

    Error codes ????
    is the drum turning ??

    Image Processor PCB

    High-Voltage System

    Laser Shutter Control
When the drum unit is drawn out, the interlocked laser shutter moves down, shutting off the laser beam path. When opening of the front cover or left door is detected, the laser scanner motor and laser outputs turn off.

    Primary Charging Bias Control
With the primary charging bias method, the drum is charged directly by the charging roller. In addition to a DC bias, an AC bias is applied to the primary charging roller to stabilize charging. When the drum is charged, both AC and DC biases are applied. When the drum is discharged, only the AC bias is applied.
The ASIC on the DC controller PCB outputs the primary bias drive signal (/PRACFOT), primary AC bias ON/OFF signal (/PRACON), primary DC bias drive signal (/PRDCFOT), and primary DC bias output level signal (/PRDCPWM) to apply the voltage generated by superimposing the primary AC bias over the primary DC bias to the primary charging roller.
The primary AC bias is detected by the primary AC bias current detection circuit, and is fed back to the AC generator circuit via the comparison circuit.
The primary DC bias is detected by the primary DC bias current detection circuit, and is fed back to the DC generator circuit via the comparison circuit. Thus, this machine controls the primary DC bias voltage. The primary DC bias voltage changes with the developing DC bias voltage according to the image density information sent from the image processor PCB.

    Developing Bias Control
The ASIC on the DC controller PCB outputs the developing AC bias drive signal (/DVACFOT), developing AC bias ON/OFF signal (/DVACON), developing DC
bias drive signal (/DVDCFOT), and developing DC bias output level signal (/DVDCPWM) to apply the voltage generated by superimposing the developing AC bias over the developing DC bias to the developing cylinder.
To prevent fogging of the drum, a DC bias higher than usual applied except during image formation and when the developing AC bias is applied for warm-up rotation.
The developing DC bias is detected by the developing DC bias detection circuit, and is fed back to the DC generation circuit via the comparison circuit, thus controlling the DC bias voltage. The developing DC bias voltage changes with the primary DC bias voltage according to the image density information sent from the image processor PCB.
The remaining toner level is detected during warm-up rotation and when the developing AC bias is applied for printing. The remaining toner level detection signal (TNRCHKT) sampled from the antenna (for remaining toner level check) in the developing assembly is compared with the reference signal (TNRCHKD) received
from the developing bias detection circuit.

thanks very much mr teckat for answering my question..i did put new image processor board but still same problem ill try to swap the HVT board and hopefully it will workout,,so i could order it asap...no error code..issue pertains to glass copy and df mode..drums turns...
      thanks again

Do not overlook the Laser shutter control mechanism, have a second closer look at it, a broken piece of protruding plastic on it could render the shutter inoperative. Assuming the DC controller is producing the HVTs, then the Transfer assembly... roller, could also be a suspect. Of course the DC controller itself could be the real culprit.

Don't forget to verify if both, the drum and the developping cylinders, are rotating. You can do this by putting marks on their extrimities and install them in the machine. switch on and off and have a look on the marks positions.

hello, i already swapped the high voltage board and the dc control board but still the problem is there...checked the laser shutter control mechanism.. and compare to other its still same..i noticed a small push button switch on the board, pressed it and the machine prints out horizontal lines on A4 size paper occupying the whole area...will try to swap the reader pcb on sat..

if you can't print out a network print or a test print/ with an image-

why would u change the reader ????????????

do u understand how the copy/print process of your printer functions-------

ah.ok my mistake... i thought the reader pcb has also something to do with it..since image processing and high voltage board and dc control has already been swapped and yet same problem occurs...by the way what is the used of that push button switch at the dc control board?it did print horizontal lines when i pressed it..but during normal copying no image on the paper?

Did you try Rachid's test to check if the photosensitive drum is rotating? This test will confirm if the developing unit is is locking properly with the drum unit during copying, and also if the developing assembly drive mechanism is working properly. Note that the Transfer Roller is itself driven by the rotating drum cylinder.
Do not forget to check for the LEAKAGE of any High Voltage on the transfer roller.

If the Laser shutter mechanism is operational, TRY replacing the Laser scanner unit itself. Not all laser unit problems display error codes. I had a similar problem like yours on an ir 2018, and solved it by replacing the laser scanner unit. BUT first confirm that all ALL HV contacts are intact.
