IR 6000 hard disk problem

Hello;
gud day.. im new tech hired to saudi.i work in sharp copier in the philippines. adjusting to new brand which is canon nw. my boss had many iR machine. one of that has Error code602-001. hard disk problem. i already download the SST frm this site. but the problem i dont knw to use it.i tried to test it using laptop, printer cable connect to copier but the selection to uploading Clicking NEXT NO SELECTION ON THE RIGHT SCREEN DOES NOT APPEAR,T(HE MODEL, UNITAND INTERFACE).. PLEASE HELP ME

I am try make clone copy by ghost software and disk image but it is don't work

Ports: LPT [printer port ] only

Once you have installed SST make sure you register the system software.

What type of cable are you connecting with? With 5000/6000 machines we do not have much luck using the NetHawk.

As for making an image, am not aware of anything that works. Too many possible combinations. If you are 100% sure the system as exactly the same, then just swap the drives and create a 2nd copy.

I gather from your post that you don't have the system software for this unit. You need the SST to interface with the machine, but you need a seperate software package call the iR6000 System Software which is the machines operating system. In most cases, it can only be acquired from a Canon Dealer.

i can't register the system software because the menu appears has no selection to click.

we are using printer cable only. the machine has no usb connector.

i dont knw what is the problem why the menu does not appears when you click in the right side CLICKING NEXT, UPLOADING OR DOWNLOADING SYSTEM. the manual state that once you click NEXT it appears selection on the right top... then user must select corresponding Model, unit, and interface but i tried does'nt functioning.

does the working other machine (ex. iR500) have system ? can i upload the system of working same model machine, then put it the the new hardisk?

how is the process uploading the system to pc? could io copy and put the new hard disk to work the defective other machine which has code 0602-001? thanks

Hey Theo I hate to be a smartass, but you really need a trained tech for this. I suggest going to the local bar and find one.

i already done swaping the hardisk from iR 5000 to iR6000 (which is defective) its working. can i copy the system and firmware to that working machine then put it to the new hardisk?

If you hold down 1 and 9 while turning on the power the machine runs a scan disk. This will Quite often resolve your problem.

IR6000 is not equipped with Download switch You need to go to service mode FUNCTION>SYSTEM>DOWNLOAD

IR6000 ROM version maybe upgraded by any of the following
* Using the download tool
* Replacing the DIMM ROM

You can use SSTV232 as download tool via LPT1
