no response from host

Hello Everyone,
After setting up my ir canon ir 4570 to print from my computer, i cannot set-up the scanning to file function. The machine comes with universal send kit. Normally, after registering new address and browsing for scan folder, the machine would just communicate with the server. This time it says" no response from host". Was there any setting that prevent the machine from communicating with the host server/computer? Any stock knowledge is appreciated. Thanks

First your computer must ping the server,then try to browse the shared folder with full permisions on the server from computer.
Also check DNS.This is first step.
