Has anyone got a manual of how and where to install the Serial interface kit G1 ? (p/n 1782b001[aa])

im working on irc4080i which is to have a EMOS system fitted to it (card reader, coinbox, etc)

Serial I/F Kit-GI Overview
Introduction of Serial Interface Kit-G1-TP09.pdf

The Serial I/F Kit-G1 is hardware which attaches to supported Color imageRUNNER devices. The Serial I/F Kit-G1 captures signals from the MFP and consolidates them into a serial interface that can be used by 3rd party vending hardware to enable the MFP and bill for copy jobs. It must be used in conjunction with: special firmware settings; and approved 3rd party developers.

The advantage of the Serial lnterface Kit-G1 is that 3rd party devices will be able to exercise greater control over customer copy jobs made on supported imageRUNNER devices vs. other connection methods. The Serial I/F Kit-G1 also offers a greater number of price options such as paper size, color, and other factors.

When installed, the Serial I/F Kit-G1 can be used in one of several modes depending on the 3rd party solution used and the specific Color imageRUNNER device. Please refer to attached Technical Publication TP09 006.pdf for additional details on Service Mode Settings.

Supported 3rd Party Devices

As of publication, Vendapin LLC's Model 5596 and Model 5596XL copy vending products interface with the Serial I/F Kit-G1. Other vendor's products are expected to be available in the future.

Thankyou very much. Excellent work. Can't understand why that technical bulletin isn't on the UK site and that none of the Canon tech specialists have this info. Thanks for the help from both of you.

Thanks guys for all your help, this will prove to be very useful indeed. Good work. It a shame they cant put that information in the box with the kit or even the uk SIMS site. I'll show this to our Dealer support to show him what he should of provided.
