    To Delete System Settings Password:

    For the imageRUNNER 330 / 400 / 550 / 600 / C2050 / C2058 models:

    1. Go into Service Mode. Press * Additional Functions, Press 2 and 8 number keys simultaneously, then Press * Additional Functions.
    2. From the Service Mode screen. Select COPIER.
    3. Select the FUNCTION tab.
    3. Select CLEAR.
    4. Under CLEAR, select PASSWORD.
    5. Scroll to the second page and select PWD-CLR. Hit OK.

This will clear out the Systems Settings Password.

Note that the copier's firmware (IP, MFC, etc) must be up to date. Otherwise, the PWD-CLR option may not be present in Service Mode. If the PWD-CLR option is not present, you can upgrade the machine's firmware or you can try using the procedure listed below for the imageRUNNER 210 and GP200 models.

For the imageRUNNER 210 and GP200 models:

You need to enter the master password override 4559769 when it asks for the system password. Once you hit OK, it will show you the forgotten original password. At that point you can get into Dept I.D. to shut the I.D. modes.

Note that the System Settings password asks for 4 digits, but the master password is 7 digits. You need to type all 7 digits in sequence, then hit 'OK' for the procedure to work.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.
