    IR3300N computer connection

Hi, can anyone spare me a ir3300N print driver for Win7 Home Edition 64bit? It not compatible with WinXP and Win7 32bit. The copier doesnt come with network card thats why im using bi-directional parallel cable to connect to 1 WinXP computer and then sharing to other network computer. I downloaded Win7 64bit driver from usa.canon.com but it still cannot go through. Firewall off and anti-virus off.

do u even know what that " N " means at the end of 3300N .

Make sure the bootrom is indeed an "N" type bootrom. Go to, Service Mode>Copier>Version>Boot-Rom, check to see if "N" is displayed next to the version.

check the PS/PCL version in Service Mode>Copier>Version>PS/PCL

•Confirm that the proper printer driver is installed. when printing from Windows, each computer must have a printer driver installed
Confirm that the correct printer is set as the output destination for the computer that is printing. Check the output destination in Printer in the Control Panel or Print Manager.

I don't think you can print using the parallel port, as far as I know its for firmware updates only. You need Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit-C1 and printer firmware.

        Network PDL KIT C1
N means printer kit is installed
        BOOT N.JPG

The Kit is designed for installation inside an iR2200/2800/3300, enabling the host machine to function as a printer. The Kit comes standard with an Ethernet interface for connection to a PC, and it does not require any additional kit for connection to a network. It supports 100Base-TX as well as widely used 10Base-T.
The network protocols it supports include TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, and AppleTalk, and it is capable of receiving and executing print jobs that use these protocols, thus supporting the presence of different protocols on the same network.
The installation of the Kit enables the use of the parallel port (IEEE1284, i.e., bi- Centronics) of the host machine as a printer interface, supporting such page description languages as PCL5e, PCL6, and PostScript 3. It also comes with 80 PCL fonts and 136 PostScript fonts as standard.
The installation of the Kit inside its host machine enables the host machine to function as a printer

Yes i always check at service mode - version either the copier come with N or C. We can print using parallel cable as im using for some customers. Heres a simple drawing of 1 of my customer that unable to connect to Win7 64bit

          connection.jpg
I will download the driver from iR3300 and try to install, if it doesnt work then i will get them Network PDL KIT C1 directly connect to router. But what i think is even i use Network PDL KIT C1 directly connect to router, Win7 64bit still asking for compatible driver. Im afraid the problem still the same.

have u tried to look and edit the inf file to "correct" the name of printer /print driver if it is listed wrong

see if windows 7 sees your printer name iR330N as the same as in the .inf printer file

install/run the driver installation program in compatibility mode.

Configure the driver installation program to run in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 compatibility mode
                1. Locate the executable file for the driver installation program.
                2. Right-click the file, and then click Properties.
                3. In the Package Name Properties dialog box, click the Compatibility tab.
                4. Click to select the Run this program in compatibility mode for check box, click Windows XP (Service Pack 2) in the Run this program in compatibility mode for list, and then click OK.
                5. Double-click the executable file to start the installation program.
