    Canon C3380i printing issues

Have a customer that is driving my crazy. They had a C3200 that was 'causing' printing issues tht sometimes it would print and then would not print until they turned it off and back on.

We replaced it with a C3220 and it worked great for about three months, and then it started the samething.

We replaced it with a NEW C3380i and it worked great for about three months and now it is doing the samething. I have told the customer that it is not the machine, there is something on their network that is causing the issue. But they said it is the copier. Three copiers all doing the samething.

I would delete that port you are using and change the IP scheme for starters.

Who is to say that one of the users doesn't have the wrong driver or have something configured wrong at the PC level?

Also who is loading the print drivers and how many workstations are they using?
Did you turn off "advanced printing features"? This can cause odd issues at times

Changed IP address, drivers, turned of Advanced. Do not know what is going on.

The Green light flashes and flashes and nothing prints. But if you trun the copier off then on it will print. Starts happening about noon. Prints fine all morning. Each computer has a UFR driver installed. Tried a PCL driver, NO CHANGE. Has Vista, XP, WIndows 7 and server installed on network. The copier is not shared, installed on each machine. Tried with it being shared for the server and still same issue.

is the printer on a dedicated line outlet ?? if not, u may need to line test the outlet if u have that equipment available >

make sure this printer is not connected using a back up power supply > have seen many issues with these connected

or try a network protocol analyzer

We may have found the problem. Someone is coming with a IP phone at noon and checking their mail and it is taking over that address. We have went into DHCP and disabled that IP for assignemnt. Will let you know.

if the customer is going to run DHCP then they need to reserve that MAC address on the machine so you do not have these issues.
