may be caused by the waste toner not being moved from directly behind the drum cleaning blade to the waste toner auger because of a waste toner drive assembly failure. To diagnosis this failure open the front door and then remove the purple cover that is in front of the AP kit. When a copy is made the white gears on the front of the AP kit should rotate. If they do not the waste toner drive assembly has failed and requires replacement.

check that the cleaning blade is installed properly. If it is check the AP Kit for a bent frame. If a bend is found replace the AP kit. If it appears to be straight then check the the cleaning blade backing plate for bends or knicks. (This plate can be bent in the process of replacing or flipping the cleaning blade. Use caution when performing this repair.)

multiple components that can cause poor drum cleaning to re-occur.

    1. Bent or worn AP Kit.
    2. An improperly installed cleaning blade.
    3. Worn or damaged drum surface.
    4. Drum that requires the surface to be properly polished with Canon drum cleaning powder and alcohol mix.
    5. Faulty drum cleaning drive assembly.

Drum polishing should be performed every 500,000 images.

We used this plastic material (one that is used in rewinding transformer,i forgot whats its called) cut a small strip and insert it inside gears just enough to fit and make the gears engaged each other
