[Misc] what is the difference between a Canon IRC5185 or 5185i

What is the difference between the Canon IRC5185 or 5185i ?
At about what copy count does this type of machine become less reliable/needing a lot of parts?
I'm looking at a 5185i with 926k on the meter, but could get a 5185 with 522k on it for a little more money.
or should I be looking at a different model? I run about 25k color copies a month and service my own equipment. I currently have 2 CLC5000's
Thank you for any help on this.

The 5185i was initially unable to use a Fiery controller, but after a few years a Kit was made available to allow it to do so.

If I am not mistaken, Universal Send is standard on the 5185i.

The fuser is the only thing to worry about. if the system software is v60 or above, the fuser will last longer.
I have one close to 2 million, and the only other major parts changed were ITB drive motor, and fuser motor, because the bearing, fused to the shaft.

UPDATED CURRENT SPECIFICATION: The specifications for the 'i' models have changed. The required Open Interface Board is now available for purchase, allowing the Fiery controllers to be connected to the 'i' model machines.

In order to connect the Fiery to its supported 'i' model copier, you will need to order the appropriate Open Interface Board.
      To connect the imagePASS H1 or ColorPASS GX100 to an iR C4080i / C4580i / C5180i / C5185i, order:
      OPEN INTERFACE BOARD - 8408A004AA

      * Please be aware that all imageRUNNER devices involved must be at the latest version system software for this to work.
In addition, when connected to the imagePASS/ColorPASS, you will not be able to use the internal Canon UFRII/PCL printer kit.

to add on the 5180 series models are a much different animal that the CLC's were/are
