Printing a Registration mark for a cutting machine

    Hi,

    I'm running a Canon IPC 6010 VP with a Fiery server A3200 system9 and CWS 5.3.1.32d.
The customer just bought a cutting machine named Uchida Aerocut mainly for cutting business cards which are imposed using the CWS impose feature. The question is: Is there a way to print the Registration mark(rectangular black patch) at a specified location on the page.(please, see attached file).

Thanks for any clue or solution.

      HI all,

Thanks Teckat for responding to my thread.

You can see this registration mark on the touch screen of the cutting machine in the videos you posted. It's nothing to do with the crops marks in the impose feature. This patch of a specific dimension need to be printed only once at a specified distance from the leading edge of the page to be cut. This patch is used as a registration mark and is read by a sensor in the cutting machine.you can also disable this function but using this registration mark is for very precise cut.

There are numerous presets(templates)saved on the cutting machine which you can use but then, the printing should match the presets;otherwise the cuts will be bad.A workaround is to manually modify the template settings to match the printout from the imagepress;this is a very time consuming task .

The video demo looks great and simple but it's not in reality;if you look closely, you can notice that the last page is cut differently....with the same settings!!!

      cheers
