    [Error Code] Canon iR2880i E748-4311

    Hey all,

Firstly before i begin i have already done a search and found this thread: http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/ca...-ir-c2880.html although it is showing the same idea i had, it hasnt worked. Anyway...

I've been working on a iR2880i on and off for a few weeks now, the story is this.

The machine was working perfectly, tested, everything was fine. We then delivered it to our customer over 100 mile away and since it has been there it has had E748-4311.

    In this order i have:
    1. Re-seated all board connecting to the Main Controller
    2. Re-seated all wired connecting to the Main Controller
    3. Swapped all boards for another set on the Main Controller
    4. Swapped the entire Main Controller cage with an old (but working) back up machine (I remembered to swap the counter boards too)
    5. Cleared and Re-installed all system software
    6. Cleared all error codes and reset the machines memory

I have no idea what else to do with this machine as i understand E748-4311 points in the direction of the Main Controller - if i have changed the entire thing (twice) what more can i do?

Any help would be very much appreciated!

    Thanks!
Have you tried turning it off and on? No...Oh, it works now!

Thanks you so much for your reply.

Although the PDF is useful, I have already cleaned, reseated and even changed all PCB boards. I've even gone the route of changing the entire cage.

I got that frustrated yesterday I even went down the road of changing the entire left hand cage with both boards (DC-Controller?)

      Thanks for the help!

I shall post a photo on Monday/Tuesday as I am not in the office over the weekend!

Thanks so much for the help though! I'd be clicking the like button but it doesn't work on my phone for some reason!

Yes I believe it is out...

This is a cage I took to the customer to replace. This didn't work. The one in it didn't work. And I've tried a 3rd cage which isn't working either! All the same error code. Could this be a problem to do with the DADF??

this error has nothing to do with DADF

U keep swapping out PCB's / what was the original configuration of the printer that has the error code ?
do you have it's config page ??

did it have a Fiery connected or a Color PS Printer Kit (activated) key by LMS License
Color PS Printer Kit and imagePASS cannot be used together-

                        It didn't have a fiery.

The story goes, i went to the customer to install their new copier, we had it tested and working in the office. I set up the copier and got them printing to it all fine.

Went home and soon after got called back in for a problem not relating to this error code. I restarted the machine and i've had this error code ever since.

I have swapped the DC Controller already on Friday with an old (but working) machine.

Due to swapping the DC Controller i have had to unplug all connections.

I don't have the config page unfortunately.

I'm not in the office again until tomorrow afternoon so i'll be having a mess around with the machine again, where i'll try disabling the scanner.

Thank you all for the help! So happy i found this forum!!

I believe it was to change the yellow laser as copies were coming out mis-aligned, but dont hold me to this! I cant think of anything else i must have gone for!

I have checked that, almost certain of it. But i shall check again tomorrow! As long as it gets this copier working again i'll have it in bits!

The best thing is, I only want it fixed to replace an old 3200 thats in the office! This 2880i has iSend which the 3200 doesn't...

Thank you so much for your help! I'll check tomorrow and let you know!

when u swap DC pcb's u need to consider the original settings / and any LMS keys activated /

I would put back all the original PCB's in the printer /

are u a trained Canon tech on this series ??/

reason asked> is why would u go in and change the Y laser on a printer that was working before/
                              & why don't u have the P PRINTS for this printer/
where are u getting the DCON settings to put back in these swapped DC controllers/

to me it seems that u created more of an issue then u originally had-

When a working printer is shipped from one location to another/ before my techs power it up>
they check all those inserted PCB's on Main C- to make sure nothing popped lose>
