    [Misc] Faint copies IR3380i

    Hello

    I have a strange issue. I have a 3380 which is giving faint / not as dark copies, adjusting the density in the user console doesnt have an effect.

    I have verified that the black drum life is about 28% in service mode, as well as the colour drums; cleaned the glass, done an auto graduation;

    Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    As usual I thank you in advance of your invaluable advice.

    Thanks

    V

    If cleaning the lasers like Canon.Tech said, has anyone had the drum drawer assembly out? If the cover isnt properly clicked down then it would be causing feint copies.
    Have you tried turning it off and on? No...Oh, it works now!

      ITB
      If transfer lid is not closing properly.
      There are bias tabs in the transfer lid that need to be making proper contact /for a defective/or old unit processing unit ==solution is replace it/ it transfer is ITB Sheet is poor replace it also

      Check the Bias Tabs on the ITB Belt assembly and the Secondary Transfer Roller. They may be bent or broken and not making contact. Repair or replace the contact that is broken.

      Ensure that the ITB ground wire is firmly attached at HVT2 and the grounding screw at the ITB frame.

      check the ITB ground surface as shown below for oxidation and clean it.

        Feedback on client visit;

        I cleaned the ITB connector, checked the earth, connection to secondary transfer as directed.

        Took the ITB off, reinserted it and ensure a flush fit.

        Cleaned the laser glass and manually inspected.

        Did a full auto grad, printed via USB, no issues, scanned print and copy, no issues.

        The quality was were I would expect it to be now, not sure which factor was at play here, but being methodical going through the checklist has certainly resolved the issue. I suspect personally it was the connection on the secondary transfer.

        I did consider cleaning the CIS, but was unsure on how to physically clean it, removing platen is straight forward;

        Would a clean dry lint cloth be the best practise here for future / air gun?

        Many Thanks

        V
