    ir3170 power on error

    Hi, I've got a grumpy ir3170

Which shows an error on power up... It comes before the screen starts...

It's a very lowlevel fault, but is starting 2 happen more often (powering it off for
    A while normaly fixes it

The code on the screen is E0748-4043

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks

E748 //communication problem with the Main Controller PCB.
First try removing and re-seating all connectors to the Main Controller P.C.B.

sub-code not listed- but those E748 codes are- this procedure has helped many a tech save money and wasted time
also follow the procedures in this pub>TP07.pdf

Whilst you have the back of the machine off it is woth giving it a blow out as well, these pieces of junk somehow manage to get toner and paperdust where it don't belong and a build up of crud on the connectors cause all sorts of problems.

Not a chance, I would like to go home that night, no I use a vac and a brush (I use a 1in soft bristle paint brush) and just go carefully and lightly.

Any connectors on the boards I give a wipe with IPA and a lint free cloth.

Like I say these machines are a P.I.T.A. from start to finish and you have to go carefull with them.
