check the cable from the c1 to the machine. It should be a crossover cable not a regular cable. Also I believe that the cable has to be in a certain plug. If it does not come up try switching the plugs and retrying the machine. Once you select the printer status then the machine will take a few minutes ( about 4 ) to get to the next screen. There may be a service code that needs to be set but I can not find it right now.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

Try this. Get into service mode that it "* 28 *" .
The menu should say BODY FEEDER SORTER, select BODY.
        Select OPTION.
        Select INT-FACE.
Select IMG-CONT and set it to 3.
Cycle the machine off an on with the main power sw.
        Good luck.

            * = Additional Functions Button, not actual * key.

                c boot rom for c1

make sure you have a "c" boot rom do as Ikrsardis said and Mr spock with crossover cable, turn the c1 on on the side ethernet in on the top, ethernet to the copier the bottom one. press the arrow on the copier screen it will say wait, guess you saw that part. version 1.1.1 huh? version 1.2 is out and better. 1.1.1 has problems.

                    i think i know

do you have the IF/pcb installed ? You need that to make it work? Whoever you got it from needs to remove the iF/pcb from their machine and give it to you, since it is part of the c1 install kit.

I finally got it working. Thanks to Keith a.k.a lkrsardis, you really are a life saver. He gave me a newer software and instruction to install it.
