    [Error Code] E000355_0003

    Hello

iR6570 code E000355_0003 after re plug on PCB

some of my friends in overhaul department said I have to re install firmware and bring battery out of PCB and reinstall new FRAM COUNTER too.

Is it true it's a lock from factory that ir5570/6570 produce for use only 1 million meter after that if reinstall PCB then code 000355 come.

and after 5 millions there will be another code to lock machine.

the Counter Memory, Serial Number and MainController PCBs work as a set and are considered the “Soft Counter Circuit”. The Counter Memory PCB is
electronically stamped with the serial number from the Serial Number PCB. Neither the Counter Memory
PCB nor the Serial Number PCB can be swapped to other equipment. The Counter Memory PCB keeps track
of the total count, which cannot be erased or changed. The service counters are retained by the Main
Controller. These counters can be reset manually through service mode. When the Counter Memory PCB
must be replaced, after installing the new one, the new Counter Memory PCB learns the Total Count from the
Main Controller. This is retained in SRAM on the Main Controller PCB and held active by means of an on
    board battery.

It is illegal to tamper with this circuit in an attempt to falsify the counter readings of any Canon
    Copier.

As mentioned in previous Technical Publications, the Counter Memory PCB is a matched board with
the Serial Number PCB and cannot be swapped with one from any other equipment. Doing so may
change the error code and will not correct the problem and will certainly add to confusion, thus
    increasing downtime.

Never replace two boards in the Soft Counter circuit at the same time! This would include any
two of either the Counter Memory PCB, Main Controller PCB (or Image Processor depending on
model) and Serial Number PCB (see Figure 1). Doing so may change the symptom to an E355 code
or E354 code, which would be unclearable.

In some cases, after replacing the Counter Memory PCB, an E354 or E355 code may appear. At this
point, enter Service Mode and access the “Clear” tab under “Function” mode
    (FUNCTION>CLEAR>E355-CLR).

IR 6570 in my shop have 2,2 million and work normally.

Not true. I have seen many over 1 million
IR 105 is the only one I know which shuts down at 20 million , then you have to change some boards to continue for another 20 million

        zoraldinho, thank you very much

        I didn't know it before.
This info could help a lot.

by the way I use to see iR8500 11 million meter and surprising that it's still running.
