Canon IR 5000

Dear all
iam facing a problem on canon ir 5000 on stapler unit ,when i turn on the machine the stapler motor works and didnt stop i can hear the voice of it all the time and it didnt stop.

i removed the stapler ,and also same problem
any ideas thanks

Could be the fininsher control bd. Check the cable for damage. May be it got smashed. Also look at the control bd and
make sure the dip switches are off. Also look for burnt componets on the board, ya never know.
If all that looks normal then re-seat the connectors.
If you know how to use the I/O screen in service mode you may be able to check the output to which ever
finisher motor is on.
Can you give more details?

thanks for ur response
actually i bebut on the flat cable and today im going to change it,also taking with me the Controlboard
actully i didnt use the service mode for the finisher before dont know how to use it , i ll follow you the latest news .

It occured to me while re reading your post, that the stapler will operate after a change of
staples to feed the staples to the head. I think it does 13 actuations before it stops.
But it also feeds a sheet of paper to the finisher so the stapler has paper to staple.
Do you have the book for this machine. I only have the English version.
And it would be terribly hard to explain on line, especially if you do not have the
book to follow.

i descoverd that the Dc of the finisher have short so i ll change it and it will work ,what i conclude that it was a short happened

does it say add staples on control panel ?? if so remove cartridge and check that small actuator it sits over

Remove the stapler assembly's wire harness and check for open wiring running from the stapler to the finisher controller PCB by using your Digital multi meter.

NO it didnt say add staples the main problem was close the above door of the finisher i checked the switch and seems was ok so i removed the stapler then i trun it back the stapler motor cant stop all the time working that;s the problem ,so on monday i ll go back to my client and change for him the DC because i already go befor and changed the falt cable and checked and still facing the same problem .
