    Irc 3200/3220 drum $ savings

For those of you who are losing $ because of drum replacements, Try converting new blk units to the color you need to replace. especialy if your customer is under contract. I have converted over 20 units within the last year and getting better results with yield and quality. Customers are happy and so is my employer. HAPPY SAVINGS.

So the black drum can convert to color right? does the chip convert as well?

How do you handle the developer portion? Can it be bought separate from the drum half?

no chip conversion you just run the crap out of that color till the black goes away and the color toner cycles into it.

Make sure to bill the customer for the extra copies. More profit.

Take your blk drum and cut off the plastic rib. The rib prevents the cartridge from being installed in the wrong drum slot of copier. Yellow and blk only have this rib right above toner senor connector on unit..Make a ledger size black original and place on glass Install drum unit into color slot that you want to convert. select the single color you are converting and run about 150 ledger single sided sheets, This amount can could be less or a few more you will know when test pages are solid color you are converting to. Note you may have to baby sit copier for the first 50 sheets or so as drum error may pop up reset copier and continue conversion. Again this may very on copier, i have had machines that never popped a code and some that have on magenta. Make sure you have toner on hand. I keep used toners on hand for this process. This is the process i use. Hope this helps you. Thanks

I would just swap the end caps so your customer doesnt open the front door and see nothing but black drums installed.
