how often is it the finisher control PCB? I had a tray hang up on the cover after being moved and stopped the tray from moving. I think motor, and sensor are fine just not moving and showing finisher unusable on the screen.

I have a Canon Y2 Saddle finisher with error code E542-8002, does the TP apply as well?

I only get the error when printing or copying to delivery tray B

I bought a SM for it;

Code Detail Error Description Detection timing
E542 8001 Tray 2 shift motor
(M108)/Tray 2
shift area sensor

PCB


If the tray does not return to home position when
the tray 2 shift motor is driven for 20 seconds.
If the tray does not move to other area when tray
2 shift motor is driven for 4 seconds.

8002 When reached to the upper limit area before the
paper surface sensor detects paper surface during
the paper surface detection operation.

I have a problem with jam 1320, sensors FM2-4254 I checked and tried in another finisher and they are OK.
But in mine after warming up the machine will appear again.
It occurs to me only PCB.
Does anyone have any idea?

I would take off both covers to inspect flags ( shaft breaks/cracks> gives false impression that flag blocks sensor correctly >
known issue on these finishers

Check to be sure that the Paper Surface Sensor Flag is not stuck behind the finisher cover.

they should rock back & forth easily

Finisher AB2 does not flag the output.
But I figured it out ....
They were dusty reflectors on the sensor UN24, which is before output.
