So i've got a Canon IR C 5185 that is having issues with the feeder. Everytime someone uses the feeder it says that it is jammed. however, there are no papers inside. opening the various compartments does not fix the issue and it still says it's jammed. the only "fix" is to restart the machine, at which point there is no jammed papers in the feeder. Could this be a sensor issue? any thoughts?

Did you try "sensor init"?Practice makes perfect
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

Re: canon ir C 5185 Feeder jamming issues
My boss went to the office and now the copier no longer works once you put something into the feeder. The jamming issue never brings up an error number.
I spoke with the company we purchased the copier from and they suggested using canned air to clean off the sensors in the feeder and then using additional functions and going to adjust feeder or feeder cleaning. I don't see any harm in trying the canned air on the sensors in the feeder. not sure what the cleaning function would do. what should i be looking for as far as Sensor Init?Comment

what DADF MODEL is on this printer>>>DADF-T1 or DADF-M1
DADF-T1 is DADF installed in Duplex Color Image Reader-G1.
It is DADF that added a simultaneous two sided reading function to existing DADF-M1.
A CIS unit is installed in the DADF-T1. Therefore, both-sided simultaneous reading can be
selected in addition to the conventional reversal both-sided reading.
In the reversal both-sided reading (DADF-M1), the document is reversed in the machine and
the CCD unit installed in the reader assembly reads its both sides.
In the both-sided simultaneous reading (DADF-T1), the document is fed only once in the
machine. The CCD unit reads its first side, and the CIS unit reads its second side at the same
time.**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment
