IR2200, need help with code E602-0002

I'm mainly a Toshiba tech, I helped a customer out with just a cleaning on their Canon IR2200 a while back but don't know much about the machine. The customer wishes for me to continue to service the machine, so I got a service and parts manual for it.

Now customer had a power surge and copier came up with code E602-0002.

The manual says HDD trouble , so my question - what needs to be done ?

Will HDD need to be replaced and new firmware and such, or can I reset the machine somehow and get it back going ???

    Any help greatly appreciated

        Try this HD CHECK>

Power off printer hold down the '1' and '9' keys on the keypad >while holding down keys >power up printer with other hand >hold until you see a flashing white block , it will show in the top left corner of the LCD.

Normally, 'HD-Check' lasts about 15-20 minutes, and ends if no fault is encountered or specific sectors have automatically been repaired bringing up DOWNLOAD MODE on the LCD.

DO NOT STOP ONCE STARTED.In certain cases,"HD-Check" can take longer than 15-20 minutes and sometimes the machine can hang in this mode and will never complete.

if this does not work-u need a new HDD
