I am working on a IR3300 that has Fax and Print options on it.
When you turn the machine on, the progress bar goes all the way to the right and stops when full and the machine then stays in a "please wait" state. I can get into service mode from that point.
If I disconnect the harness between the fax control board and the main control board, the machine will boot up and run fine. (no fax of course).
When it gets to the "please wait" state, I can go in and look at version software for the various components and there is no listing for the Fax.
I figured at first it was the hard drive (changed a million of them), so that has been changed.
Also tried different main controller and fax control board as well.
I checked power into the fax control board (from the composite power supply) and it looks like to me it has power.
I did take the fax option off the machine (well, the boards in the metal case on the right side as you look at it from the back) and plugged into another machine and that machine came up.
As I mentioned, I can get into the service mode and I also checked service codes. None were listed in the history. (checked before changing the old hard drive, but it took forever to run through the check sequence, so I replaced it anyway).
I have worked on these machines a lot of years and have not seen something like this before, so post away with ideas/suggestions.
Thanks.
