[Misc] iR ADV 8105 - U1- Locking up

    Hi
My manager has asked me to remove the U1 Fiery from a 8105 due to it making the device to lock up
This customer also has a C1 and 4x iR ADV C5045 (With B1 Fireys)
These customer also has Uniflow, and eCopy (embeded) on them all

I have Not witnessed any of these machines locking up at all, but the 8105 seems to be the worse (As and when it does do this)

    The Question is...

Can i just remove the U1 Fiery, set the IMG-CON to "0"
Enter the network settings, and load the PS/PCL driver...
    Is it that easy
    OR...
Can't i do this due to the machine coming with the U1 as standard, and the ADV 80xx has the hardward within the device

I know you can by-pass the B1 on the ADV 50xx if you set the IMG CON to 0, and wonder if this is also the case for the ADV 80xx

    Any info would be greatful

The service manual says it can be bypassed just like any other fiery so I don't see why not, but the whole idea of these machines was that they were to be used in a environment where a print controller was req. The real question is why is the machine locking up in the first place when all the others seem OK.

From what you have said it isn't the jobs being sent to the machine unless there are specific jobs just going to this machine! So the problem may be the fiery, in which case bypassing it and sending the same print jobs to it to see if it still hangs will be a useful diagnostic.

The job of seeing what is wrong in these circumstances can be a bitch, so trying different combo's can give ideas as to the origin of the problem - good luck.

      Yes you can.
After setting img-cont to 0, Reboot.
      You need PS/Pcl licence.
If no licence, you can use UFR driver.

Do you have the latest system software loaded (V42)
