    Canon irc3580i blue lines

Hi, I am hoping this is the right place but if nobody can point me in the right direction then its fine.

I've started at a small company and their printer, a Canon irc3580i, has a few blue lines when printing in colour. When printing in black and white its fine but when in colour we get 2 really strong blue lines at the top of the page and a few faint near this. I've tried cleaning the toners but it is still appearing. I've noticed that when you open up the printer from around the corner of where the toners are there is a roller that I guess feeds paper through (again, im new to this sorry! ) which has blue lines on it almost exactly like the lines showing on the paper but nothing comes off it. My conclusion is the ink is coming from something that may touch this roller and has transferred it onto this but has dried in.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hello,

Could be one of two things, the cyan drum is at the end of it's life or the ITB assy.

Before changing any parts though try doing a machine clean in the additional functions to see if anything improves.
    1. Additional functions (looks like a head shape with a * inside it)
    2. Adustment / Cleaning
    3. Clean inside main unit.

The machine will start making various whiring noises then when finished press the yellow reset button till you are back at the normal user screen. If things are no better please call a trained tech as to replace the parts you will have to open up the machine.

    Hope it helps!

      Hello,

Thanks for the reply. I went through the clean inside main unit process and it hasn't stopped the lines from appearing.

I was just wanting to make sure there wasn't anything I could do before paying someone to have a look. Do you think theres anything else I could do or should I leave it to the pros?

      Thanks again!!

Time for the pros , while they are having a look at that problem get them to have a look at the rest of the machine and put together a quote or get it on a maintenance contract, you will pay a bit each month but any contract worth the paper it is written on will include labor, parts, and drums with the option of toner included as well.

These machines are good but take care of them and they are great!

As for your immediate problem as I said in my first post, it is either the drum or the ITB assy. To get to these you have to start taking the machine apart so best left to a trained tech. when they have fitted anything make sure they do a full auto grad adjustment and that you are happy with the result.

        All the best.
