iR3570 print image can rub off & solidness

Hi Canon Experts,

i have replace fuser film and pressure roller 3 months ago, but since last week it intermittent print out with slightly cramp in middle and some dirty dotted on paper.

at first i suspect drum and DV tank cause the dirty dotted but it seem like fuser unit causing the problem.

i did test print on Service mode -PG [5]; i found the print out is not solid enough and some more i can rub off the toners on the paper surface.

compare to test print config page , the banner parts with [PCL] words look more solid that PG# 5. Of course the same, i can rub off the toners.

can anyone please advise me what to do?

Hello everybody

The printing density has nothing to do with the fixing assembly. It's related to the drum charging, transfer and laser power (it's may be dirty). But from your print quality issue (lack of print density and toner not well fixed on paper) i suggest you change the toner.

in service mode you can set the fuser temp to a higher setting. *28* copier/option/body/fix-temp/0-7
0 is factory setting
I recomend at least a 5 for off brand toner.

right picture: it seems to me that you should check developing cylinder to see if the surface of the developing cylinder is coated with an even layer of toner, make sure that it's clean.

left picture: dirty dotted, check drum surface for dirty and fixing film condition. image easily rub off: it may come from worn out fixing film layer (rub off not all image), if image easily rub off (all image) it may come from heater or toner quality.

if the fixing film ok, check heater with tester, check temperatur on service mode (analog). in some case (I found on this forum) if heater ok, DC control may be fault.

Check the big white half moon gear that releases fuser pressure when the door is open. If it isn't synchronized right it will still be engaged when the door is closed and not allow full pressure. I've done that and had the copies look just like the sample on the left. It will mimic drum/dev issue or in one instance just jammed every other copy.

The lower fuser roller bearing housing could be out of place causing uneven pressure. That could also cause the wrinkle in the middle.

Also, there is a tech pub about the door latch. If it is straight it is old style, if it has a slight offset it is new.

I encounter many times of the image can easily be rub off was cause by using none genuine toner. After we changed for all machines using genuine toner until now, everything fine and the printing quality is very good, the result is dramatically change.

Hello for all

first of all i want to tell you that the copy resolution is not good mean that the development unit need cleaning well,2nd when you change the fixing film unit did u change the adjustment of the springs on the unit hope not ,if you that's mean your problem on it .

try to change all the heater unit and then try waiting your reply

really appreciate on the precious advise.

i had did all the steps mention by the deareat Master, however, i think the main problem is the toner i using (compact) and secondly the fuser film giving problem.

i just curious, how come fuser film cannot last more 20k meter which causing intermittent minor dotted print on paper surface.

Use canon toner and canon parts.

I agree with Rachid........................using genuine Canon parts will make your life alot easier. Especially with the fixing films. Also check the fixing film cleaning roller. It maybe covered in fused toner. You can either scrape it off or replace it. It's the steel roller right beside the film. If it's covered in toner it may prematurely wear out the film.
